Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, this former rodeo queen headed to the desert to attend The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. Motivated by the fast path, she graduated at age 19 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Media Management.
No stranger to large events and productions, she has spent her career managing the local and national public relations, marketing, creative and event management for large organizations. With a specialty in the automotive events industry, she has worked with some of the largest manufacturers and vendors establishing innovative marketing programs for product launches, auctions and just about everything in-between.
Although job opportunities ultimately led her down a different path, her original intent was to pursue a career as a combat journalist. Her lust for adrenaline still runs deep with her greatest passion firmly rooted in international travel and humanitarian work. Humbled to have visited over 35 countries, she is constantly looking for the next adventure and opportunity to explore the unknown. Most at home when on the road with her backpack, she prefers traveling to remote and obscure locations where bugs are abundant, tourists are nonexistent, plans are usually "iffy" and vaccinations are required. From volunteering in Africa, trekking through Patagonia, backpacking through Asia, diving with sharks in the Caribbean to sleeping in the jungles of Central America—she is most in her element when traveling off the beaten path, encountering language barriers and negotiating border crossings.
